Have you ever come across a home for sale and tried to “Google” the real estate agent to get more information, only to come up empty handed? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! This happens way too frequently because a lot of real estate agents overlook the importance of having a website.
Not many people know this, but I worked as the regional director for one of the top real estate marketing firms in North America. One of my pet peeves working at this marketing firm were cheap real estate agents that didn’t want to spend a dime on creating a real estate website for their business. For crying out loud in today’s connected age every real estate agent is expected to have a website; how else do you expect people to find your listings? In a recent survey, out of the 15,000+ estimated Metro Vancouver real estate agents 65% did not have a real estate website. What boggles me is that getting a real estate website is not expensive at all, it costs way less then your cell phone bill. It costs roughly $40/month to get one!
95% of people start their home search online! And again as a real estate agent in today’s connected age, that’s valuable clientèle you’re missing. In my personal opinion if you’re looking to hire a real estate agent please make sure they have a real estate website otherwise make sure you don’t hire them to sell your home! Stay tuned for our article where will discuss what you should look for when hiring a real estate agent. Wait for it!
